On April 3, 2023, the Mullvad browser was released, built by the Tor Project team and distributed by Mullvad. It has similar safety levels as the Tor Browser, but works independently of the Tor network and is meant to use with a VPN service instead. Upon closer inspection I have found out that upon connecting to a domain, MB makes a few connections to Mullvad and Akamai servers. If I had to guess it's for auto updates.
As with Tor, it doesn't log anything and doesn't keep browser history unless you explicitly allow it to.
While at first glance the Github page just looks like a readme file, the source code is located within a branch of the page (kinda confusing if you ask me). There's also a mirror located on Gitlab.
Mullvad has a very good reputation for protecting its user's privacy.

Analysis: MB is essentially just the Tor Browser without the Tor functionality, so the similar scores between the two should make sense. It also scores higher than Firefox out of the box so if you find hardening Firefox too tiresome, then Mullvad Browser is just for you. Do note that since it clears cookies and browser history upon closing, you might find yourself logged out of sites or having your site preferences reset. If that bothers you then change it if you want to. Letterboxing (not filling the entire screen of the browser) is also on by default which you can turn off, although I'd advise against it as it would make sites easier to fingerprint you. As with installing extensions on any browser, keep them to a minimum to reduce fingerprinting and so. MB already comes with both Ublock Origin and NoScript so there's really no reason to change that as those two are pretty much just what you need. And contrary to popular belief, you can use any VPN with MB. Just make sure you trust the VPN you're gonna use.
